Artist and Norfolk Black History Month committee member Danny Keen reflects on Turner and Black history. Tickets include museum admission. This talk will take place in the Town Close Auditorium which is located on the first floor at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery.

Winter Talk - WW1 Trench life, using cartoons and songs Nigel will discuss the everyday life and conditions of British soldiers in the trenches on the Western Front in 1914-18. Utilising cartoons, songs and photographs he will illustrate the way in which 'Tommy' humour enabled many to survive despite the horror. There will also be an opportunity to handle original artefacts and equipment.

A talk by Timothy Wilcox - art historian, curator and author. Timothy is a particular expert on the work of John Sell Cotman and has previously curated an exhibition for Norwich Castle: "Cotman in Normandy". Tickets include museum admission. Join Hayley Simmons (Museum Learning Assistant) as she explores the colourful world of fashion and beauty in the Ancient Roman Empire. Where the status of the Roman citizen was paramount and hygiene a necessity. Find out what influenced Roman clothing, by looking at their own words and art, and how they, in turn, influenced the fashions of societies to come through artefacts re-discovered over time.

A talk by Turner specialist David Blayney Brown, former senior curator of the national Turner collection at Tate Britain and author of numerous books on his work. Tickets include museum admission.
