Take a tour of Gressenhall and hear the stories of the real women who worked on site caring for people over the past two hundred years. As a workhouse, Gressenhall was home to some of the most vulnerable people in Norfolk society - and it would take a team of staff to keep them well and safe. From the early 19th century to the late 1940s, a Gressenhall guide will take you on a trip in time to briefly explore the lives of the workhouse nurses and the different experiences they had when working within this important profession. Tours last approximately 45 minutes with additional time for questions at the end. Tours take place on the ground floor of the museum, and visitors are then welcome to explore 2024's temporary exhibition, 'Making the Rounds: Stories of Workhouse Nurses told in Textiles'. Please be advised that the site closes at 5pm.
