Volunteering and Work Experience
Meet like-minded people, gain new experience, learn new skills and support Norfolk's heritage!
Whatever your experience, we have a wide variety of opportunities and ways to get involved as a volunteer, or work placement with Norfolk Museums Service. Opportunities vary across our 10 museums, the Norfolk Collections Centre, and Study Centre at Shirehall. You can get involved as a regular volunteer, take part in one off or short-term opportunities or support us via remote or digital volunteering.
All of our current volunteer roles, work experience opportunities and other ways to support us will be advertised through our dedicated volunteering portal Volunteer Makers. Here you can create an account as an existing volunteer or sign up and be the first to find out about new opportunities and other ways to support us through different 'challenges'.
On our Volunteer Makers platform, you can also find out more about what's involved when volunteering with us, look at our volunteers in action and once signed up you can register for our volunteer training and events and log hours contributed.
If you'd like to get in touch about volunteering or work experience with Norfolk Museums Service, you can email volunteer.museums@norfolk.gov.uk.
